After years of dealing with our dog's reactivity to strangers and other dogs, a few conversations with "trainers" that gave me pause, and one experience with a trainer at the very beginning of our journey with reactivity that left us feeling more defeated than assisted, I finally found Georgette and got on her schedule. She is so positive and encouraging, and truly understands not only dog behavior in general, but our dog Kirby's particular idiosyncrasies. We made so much progress in our six weeks with Georgette and I feel confident that we will keep making more progress in the weeks to come, with her helpful instructions and homework. I know reactivity is not an overnight fix, especially with a six-year-old dog, but now it does not feel impossible.

Georgette's reviews are a testament to her dedication in helping dogs and their owners. I know from my search that it was important to read reviews that specifically addressed reactivity in dogs. Georgette is an amazing dog trainer and a great communicator. We are first-time dog owners, and Georgette met us and our puppy at our level and helped us feel confident working with our dog. She helped us not only address basic behavior but guided us in interacting with and teaching our puppy as she continues to grow. Training a puppy can be very difficult. It is up to the owners to ensure the puppy is trained correctly and to identify when help is needed. Tanner was a bit of a challenge that we had never experienced before with previous dogs. I thoroughly researched trainers in the Albuquerque area and felt that Georgette with Pawsitive Training would be a good fit for us and Tanner. I was thrilled with the outcome that Tanner had after 6 sessions. I will say I certainly had to do a lot of homework, read valuable articles and watch some ytube videos recommended by Georgette. Again it’s the owners responsibility to do the right thing for the puppy. I can say I learned things I never knew before ! I would definitely recommend Pawsitive training and Georgette. Georgette was great to work with and my puppy, Hopper, loved her!  She helped us learn practical ways to reinforce good behavior that works well for us and highlights our puppy's smart and curious nature. After selling our home, making some career changes, packing up all of our belongings, and moving across the country to Albuquerque  my husband and I arrived with an irritable, confused, moody and sometimes nipping  Cairn Terrier. We felt like we had lost our beloved family dog, Cosmo.Our concern about the changes in our little family member led us to call Georgette. From our very first conversation with her, when she told us every dog's favorite movie is Groundhog Day, to our sixth session with her today when she said everyday Cosmo is learning, whether you're teaching him on purpose or not, we have become much more attentive, wise, and patient dog owners, and Cosmo has returned to his joyful, playful, and smart old self. We have all learned some new behaviors and games. (Terrier owners, listen to this...Cosmo comes when he is called now!!) I adopted my girl about a year ago. She was really bad on a leash and we had some other issues to work out. Georgette came in and helped give tools and guidance in a way that my dog and I both enjoyed. We’re still working on what we’ve been taught. Georgette's methods are easy to understand and effective without stressing me or my dog. Our dog was recently re-homed to us and she is bigger, with more energy than our 2 Chihuahuas. I’ve had many older dogs but when rescuing my last Weimaraner who was still a high energy juvenile, I knew I needed some help to set us up for success. At 17 months, Lucy was very insecure and hadn’t been socialized since she went to her previous owners during the pandemic. While she was very sweet at home, as soon as she’d get outside she was reactive to other humans and dogs with barking and lunging. I have an active outdoor lifestyle and I wanted to be able to safely enjoy it with her. One of things I really liked about working with Georgette was this wasn’t a 1 size fits all training program where she’d teach us a standard set of behaviors. It was all about the areas we needed help, which was outdoors. I feel much more equipped to better work with Lucy and we will continue to use the positive reinforcement training techniques. This was definitely worth the investment and I feel like I’m connected into a support network with people who are working towards similar goals.
